KHULNA: A district court on Friday sent Khulna metropolitan unit Chhatra Shibir president Mim Miraz Hussain and 26 others to jail on charge of planning to create sabotage.

The accused were sent to jail after Sonadanga Thana police produced them before the court in the afternoon.

On Thursday, Sonadanga police besiege the Siddikia Kamil Madrasa in the town and detained 119 students. Of them, all but 27 were released.

Later, sub-inspector (SI) of the thana Ahmed Anwar filed a case against the 27 on Friday under Special Power Act.

The accused were included Mim Miraz Hussain, Muniruzzaman, Abdur Razzak, Saiful Islam, Yasin Ali, SK Shahinur Rahman, Towhidur Rahman, Khairul Islam, Mehedi Hasan, Mahfuz Alam, Saiful Islam (2), Saiful Islam (3), Al Amin, Al Mujahid, Habibur Rahman, Touhiduzzaman, Hafez Julqar Nain, Omar Ali, Hafizur Rahman, Momacchil, Ibrahim Khalilullah, Amirul Islam, Monirul Islam, Masum Billah, Abu Taher, Akhtaruzzaman and Abdullahel Maruf.
