DHAKA: A Dhaka court Thursday placed BNP chairperson's adviser Shawkat Mahmud on a one-day fresh remand in a sabotage case of Lalbagh thana.

Metropolitan magistrate Atikur Rahman passed the order in reply to seven-day fresh remand plea of police.

Earlier, court granted seven-day remand for Shawkat Mahmud in two phases.

On August 18, police arrested Shawkat Mahmud, member secretary of Adarsha Dhaka Andolan and president of BFUJ faction, from Samarai convention centre in city's Panthapath area.
