CHITTAGONG: Law enforcers on Friday detained nine people, including Patiya Upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Mukibul Islam Chowdhury Faruq, while holding a secret meeting to plan creating sabotage.

Senior assistant superintendent of police (Patiya circle) Mohammad Shamim Hossain told banglanews that police detained the nine people from Mukibul Islam Chowdhury’s residence at Paikpara area of the upazila.

Police also seized documents of planning and books of extremist ideas from the spot, he added.

He also said that legal actions will be taken against the detainees.
