DHAKA: President of Gana Forum Dr Kamal Hossain placed an 11-point demand as a declaration of national unity.

Upholding the spirit of healthy political programs, effective democracy, rule of law and human rights the declaration was made at a press conference on Sunday.

Dr Kamal said that people of the country has been passing an abnormal situation in history for several years.

According to this veteran leader, there is no alternative of national unity.

He also put emphases on dialogue and abstention from violence.

He also protested the recent government decision of price hiking of electricity and gas.

DUCSU former vice-president Sultan Mohammad Mansur, Gana Forum executive president Subrata Chowdhury, Dhaka Bar Association former president Advocate Altaf Hossain, Supreme Court Bar Association former vice-president Jaglul Haidar and Forward Party president Mustafa Amin, among others, were present at the event.
