LALMONIRHAT: Police on Tuesday night arrested Hatibandha upazila unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) president Shariful Islam in cases filed for creating vandalism and obstructing police from discharging their duties in 2013 n Lalmonirhat district.

Confirming the matter, Hatibandha Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Matin told banglanews that they arrested Shariful Islam from Medical Mor area in town around 10:30pm.

He also said court issued an arrest warrant against Shariful Islam as he was a fugitive for a long.

The arrestee will be sent to the court on Wednesday, OC added.
