DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered to quiz BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s advisory council member Shaukat Mahmood, also a journalist, at the jail gate within three working days.

The court also turned down the bail plea by Shaukat Mahmood and remand plea by police in a case.

The court of magistrate Ataul Haque of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) of Dhaka passed the orders when investigation officer of the case produced the Shaukat Mahmood at the court with a 10-day remand plea.

DB police detained Shaukat Mahmood from Samarai Convention Center in city’s Panthapath area on August 18.

So far, he has been shown arrested in 13 cases.
