DHAKA: Death row convict war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury has decided to file review petition against the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) verdict that the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld.

His lawyer Hujjatul Islam Alfesani confirmed the matter to banglanews at noon.

The lawyer was on his way to Kashimpur Central Jail to talk to Salauddin Quader Chowdhury about the review petition.

He further said they already have informed the chief prosecutor of the tribunal about filing the review petition.

Alfesani said the convict took the decision after going through the complete verdict.

The Appellate Division on June 16 upheld the ICT verdict against Jamaat secretary general Ali Ahsan Mujahid and on July 29 the verdict against Salauddin Quader Chowdhury for their crimes against humanity during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.

Later, the complete verdict against the two death row convict was published on September 30.

On October 1, the jail authority informed them about the verdict.
