DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal set November 19 for date of formal charge submission against Syed Md Hossain and Moslem Prodhan of Kishoreganj for alleged crimes against humanity in 1971.
Three-member ICT, led-by chairman justice Anwar-ul-Haque on Thursday re-fixed the date after hearing a time petition filed by prosecution.
Prosecutor Turin Afroz filed a petition seeking 6-week time to make formal charge from final probe report submitted by the ICT probe agency.
On Wednesday (October 7), the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has submitted final probe report on allegations against Syed Md Hossain and Moslem Prodhan of Kishoreganj to the prosecution.
In the report, some six allegations, including genocide, arson attack, confinement, abduction and torture, were brought against them.
Chief coordinator of the Probe agency Abdul Hannan and senior coordinator Sanaul Haque Mia said a 439-page document has been added in the 161-page probe, the added. Depositions of witness, draft map and still photograph of crime scene and index will also be included in the report.
During the investigation, 60 people gave testimonies, they added.
On July 7, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) issued arrest warrant against ‘razakars’ Mohammad Hossain and Moslem Prodhan of Kishoreganj in war crimes cases.
Later, police arrested Moslem from his home at Kamarhati village under Nikli upazila of Kishoreganj.
