JHENAIDAHA:  Police recovered body of a local Awami League leader at Shyamnagar village in Sadar upazila Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Asadul Biswas, 37, son of Mohiuddin Biswas of Jadabpur village. He was the general secretary of Jadabpur unit of the party.
 
Police Super Rezaul Karim told banglanews24.com.bd that assailants picked Asadul from his house for extortion and slaughtered him.  

"On information, DB police and local police conducted rescue operation and recovered his body," said the SP.

Police suspects that members of outlawed party might have killed him.

Police sent the body to Jhenaidaha Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
