PABNA: A district court has granted a 5-day remand for the chief accused of Father Luke Sarkar attempt to murder case and also Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) regional commander Raqibul Islam.

Pabna cognizance court-2 judge and also chief judicial magistrate Rezaul Karim passed the order on Thursday afternoon.

Case investigation official and also Ishwardi Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Biman Kumar Das told banglanews said they placed the accused before the court and demanded a 10-day remand.

After the hearing the court granted a 5-day remand, he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, police arrested Raqibul from his house in Majidpur area in sadar upazila of Pabna district.

Police said that Raqibul is the chief accused and also the main planner.

A group of three youth entered the Father Luke Sarkar’s house and tried to slaughter him on October 5.
