JOYPURHAT: Police detained three leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami from Nikardighi village under Panchbibi Upazila of the district over allegations of planning sabotage actions.

During the operation, law enforcers recovered 10 Jihadi books and leaflets from the meeting venue.

The detainees are Amirul Islam Belali, 40, hailed from Kolaroa upazila of Satkhira, Abdur Rahman Gazi, 25, from Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj and Imran Hossian, 22, of Panchbibi Upazila of Joypurhat.

Panchmbibi Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Ashraful Islam told banglanews that tipped off, a team of police conducted drive at the village on Friday midnight and picked up the trio while holding a secret meeting there.
