BNP concerned over attacks on publishers

DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday expressed his party’s concern over the attacks on publishers and writers in city.

He voiced this concern this evening following the murder of Jagriti Prakashani owner, Foysal Arefin Dipon, and attacks on Shuddhaswar Prakashani owner Ahmedur Rashid Tutul, poet Tareq Rahim and writer-researcher Ranadipam Basu.

The BNP leader said that these incidents in a day prove that law and order situation has been derogated in the country.

He also demanded the government to arrest the attackers immediately and bring them to trial.

Mirza Fakhrul also urged the nation to be united in this crisis.
