BNP, associates pay tributes to Zia

DHAKA:  BNP and its associate organizations paid rich tributes to party founder late President Ziaur Rahman to mark November 7 as the Revolution and Solidarity Day.

Hundreds of leaders and activists started thronging to Chandrima Udyan adjacent to Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban to place floral wreaths at Zia’s tomb.

At first, BNP vice chairman Altaf Hossain, standing committee members Moudud Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan and Mahbubur Rahman, education affairs editor Khairul Kabir Khokan, advocate Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Shirin Sultana placed wreaths on behalf of the party.

Among the BNP associate organizations, Juba Dal president Moazzemn Hossian Alal paid tribute to the party’s founding president.

Besides, different organizations, including Jatiyatabadi Peshajibi Dal, Chhatra Dal, Tanti Dal and Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas) also placed floral wreaths to mark the day.
