DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (North), in overnight drives, detained 11 alleged members of a banned extremist outfit, Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), from several areas of Abdullahpur in city.

The drives were conducted from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

DMP deputy commissioner (media) Muntasirul Islam told banglanews that police seized books containing extremist ideas, explosives and locally made weapons from the detainees’ possession.

Details will be disclosed in a press briefing at DMP Media Center, he added.
