DHAKA: Journalist and also BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Shawkat Mahmud has got bail in three more violence cases.
The High Court (HC) bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain granted the bails on Tuesday.
During the anti-government movement in January, police filed two of the cases with Mugda Thana and one with Paltan against the journalist.
Earlier on November 9, the same bench granted Shawkat’s bail in two cases filed with Ramna Thana and a case with Khilgaon.
Defending lawyer Advocate Khandakar Mahbub Hossain along with Advocate Morshed Al Mamun participated in the hearing.
However, police arrested Shawkat Mahmud in a violence case on September 18. Currently, he is staying at Kashimpur jail.
