BNP-Jamaat men among 149 held in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR: Police detained at least 149 people, including 42 leaders and activists of BNP and its major ally Jamaat-e-Islami conducting special drives in different parts of Jamalpur district.

The drives were conducted from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

Jamalpur police super (SP) Nizam Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Among the detainees, 23 were from BNP and 19 from Jamaat, the SP added.
