NARAIL: Narail Sadar Upazila Parishad chairman and also BNP sadar upazila unit general secretary Monirul Islam has been suspended from his parishad post.

The order reached Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) office in Narail sadar on Tuesday.

A notification signed by local government, rural development and cooperatives ministry senior assistant secretary Dr Julia Moin said on Monday.

However, police filed a case against BNP leaders and activists including Monirul Islam following the clash between police and party activists during BNP’s anti-government activities on October 27 in 2013.

The court, recently, accepted the charge-sheet of the case.
