16 BNP leaders face arrest warrant MK Anwar and Barkatullah Bulu

DHAKA: A city court on Tuesday issued arrest warrant against 16 BNP leaders including the party’s standing members MK Anwar and Barkatullah Bulu in a case under special power act for vandalism.

Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah took contingence of the case and passed the order at noon.

The court additional public prosecutor Tapas Kumar Paul confirmed the matter to banglanews saying that the other warrantees include Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, Azizul Bari Helal and Mir Sharafat Ali Shupu, among others.

Total accused of the case are 34, among them one is in jail and 17 on bail. Other 16 people have faced the arrest warrant as they were absconded during the hearing.

Earlier on January 30, some miscreants torched a minibus after throwing a petrol bomb near Gulistan toll plaza area in Mayor Hanif Flyover of the city.

Wari Thana police sub-inspector (SI) Omar Ali filed a case against 27 people and the case investigation officer and also SI Shah Alam submitted the charge-sheet against 34 people.
