TANGAIL: District unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has called a half-day hartal at Tangail district town for Thursday as a protest of detention of its local unit president.

District JCD general secretary Safiqur Rahman Safiq told banglanews on Wednesday noon.

He said that the shut-down has been called as a protest of detention of district unit JCD president Khandakar Rashedul Alam Rashed.

‘We also demand Rashed’s immediate release,’ he added.

Safiq also requested all to observe the hartal from 6:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday.

Earlier on Tuesday noon (November 10), police detained Rashed from the town’s old bus stand area.
