PATUAKHALI: Police arrested Islami Chhatra Shibir district unit president Mahfuzur Rahman in accusation of creating violence in Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali district.

Bauphal Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Masuduzzaman told banglanews that Mahfuz, son of Kuddus Mia, was planning to carry out subversive activities.

On tip-off, police conducted a drive at Nazirpur union of Bauphal upazila and arrested the district unit Shibir president, he added.

According to the OC, several cases have been filed with Patuakhali Sadar Thana against Mahfuz.
