RUPGANJ (NARAYANGANJ): A group of miscreants hacked a Mahila League activist Halima Begum Jarina to death in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district.

The incident took place in Tengrartek area of Galakandail union of the upazila sometime in early Saturday.

The victim, daughter of Rashid Patuari, was actively involved with Bangladesh Mahila Awami League.

Rupganj Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mahmudul Islam said that locals informed the police after seeing the dead body of Halima by her house.

Later, recovering the body police sent it to Narayanganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
