DHAKA: BNP central executive committee member and also Faridpur district unit senior vice-president MM Shahriar Rumi has resigned from BNP.
He made the announcement by sending press release to the media on Sunday.
According to the release, the resignation paper has been sent to the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and party spokesperson Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon.
Rumi has also resigned from all the party posts including of central executive committee member and Faridpur district unit senior vice-president.
Faridpur district BNP president Mohammad Zahirul Haque Shahzada Mia told banglanews that earlier Rumi joined BNP being inspired by the patriotic spirit of former president and also BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
Mentioning Rumi inactive in politics, Shahzada commented, ‘It is his internal affairs to leave the party’.
