DHAKA: The High Court deferred to November 22 for delivering its order on bail petition of BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three sabotage cases.
A High Court bench comprising justice M Rezaul Haque and justice M Khasruzzaman re-fixed the date on Monday.
Earlier on November 11, the same bench fixed November 16 (Monday) for passing order on three petitions filed by the BNP leader after
a hearing.
Barrister Rafiq ul- Huq, Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and Advocate Jainul Abedin stood for the petitioner while Additional Attorney General Momtajuddin Fakir moved for the state.
On November 2, the appellate division rejected a petition filed by BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir seeking further extension of deadline for his surrender.
But the court asked to settle the rule that issued by the High Court on bail petition of Mirza Fakhrul in three cases within two weeks.
Following the day, a city court has sent Mirza Fakhrul to jail after surrender before it in three violence cases filed with Paltan Thana in city.
