SAVAR (DHAKA): Police have arrested 14 leaders and activists of BNP and its major ally Jamaat-e-islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir conducting drives in different parts of Dhaka district.

Police informed banglanews on Monday.

According to them, the arrested BNP-Jamaat-Shibbir men were planning to carry out subversive activities.

Conducting overnight drives, police arrested 14 from Savar, Ashulia and Dhamrai areas of the district.

‘Some of them are accused in violence cases,’ the police sources added.

Ashulia Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mohasinul Kadir, Savar Thana OC Qamruzzaman and Dhamrai Thana OC Rizaul Haque separately confirmed the matter to banglanews.
