DHAKA: Appellate Division of the Supreme Court adjourned the appeal hearing of death row convict Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami on Wednesday.
The Division made the announcement after the 3rd day appeal hearing.
The hearing was held in the 4-member appeal bench, led by Chief Justice SK Sinha. The other members included Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice Hasan Foez Siddique.
Defend lawyer SM Shahjahan took part in the hearing.
The other two hearing was held earlier on November 17 and September 9.
Earlier on October 29, three-member International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 comprising of its chairman Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Justice Anwarul Haque and Justice Jahangir Hossain sentenced Nizami to death in the case of crimes against humanity during the country’s war of independence in 1971.
