MUNSHIGANJ: At least 10 people, including BNP district unit president Abdul Hye, were injured as opponents attacked them in Munshiganj municipal area on Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place in Masjid Market area while the BNP men were conducting a poll campaign around 12:30pm.

The injured received treatment at local hospitals.

Abdul Hye said that they along with BNP candidate AKM Iradat Manu were conducting poll campaigns in the area.

‘Then a group of Jubo League and Chhatra League activists suddenly attacked us and started beating,’ he added.

He further said that they have informed district administration and police about the matter.

Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Yunus Ali said that they are informed and looking into the matter.
