GAIBANDHA: Police have arrested 17 activists of BNP and its major ally Jamaat-e-Islami conducting drives at Gaibandha district.
The drives were conducted from Friday night and Saturday morning.
District police control room operator Tabibor Rahman told banglanews that the arrestees are accused in several cases, including of creating violence.
Among the arrestees, 16 were from BNP and one from Jamaat, he added.
Gaibandha additional super (B-Circle) Faruk Hossain said that the arrestees are set to be sent to jail through court.
