JHENAIDAH: A group of miscreants slaughtered Barobazar unit Jubo Dal leader in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah district on Saturday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Mintu Mandal (40), son of Atiar Mandal of Subarnasara village.

Mintu was former organizing secretary of Barobazar union of Jubo Dal of the upazila.

The incident occurred around 3:00pm at Subarnasara village.

Kaliganj Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Anwar Hossain told banglanews that a group of masked people hacked and slaughtered Mintu while he was working at his fishing gher at Subarnasara village.

On information, police rushed to the spot, he added.
