JHENAIDAH: At least five people, including a woman, were injured as a group of miscreants attacked on BNP’s mayoral candidate Khalilur Rahman in Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah district.

Moreover, they also vandalized Khalilur’s motorbike during the attack.

The incident took place at the BNP candidate’s Rahul bricks field Sunday afternoon.

The injured included locals Omar Ali, Keru, Tariqul and Babita Khatun and bricks field worker Hossain.

Locals said that Khalilur Rahman and workers, except Hossain, escaped the attack.

Then the attackers beat five people including the woman.

Shailkupa Thana officer-in-charge (OC) told banglanews that on information police rushed to the spot.

The criminals had left the spot immediately, he added.
