LAKSHMIPUR: A group of miscreants chopped a local unit leader of Jubo League to death at Balaishpur village in sadar upazila of the district on Saturday night (August 13).

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Faisal (28), son of Fazlul Karim and also Bashikpur Union Ward 3 unit president of Jubo League.

Locals said that Faisal was returning to his village home on Saturday night. A group of miscreants chopped him to death when he reached in front of Choukidar Bari.

Bashikpur Union Jubo League general secretary Mashiur Rahman Nishan said that the terrorists have killed Faisal as he used to assist police in curbing violence and drug peddling in the area.

Duttapara Police Investigation Centre in-charge and also sub-inspector (SI) Mohammad Jahangir said that they have found injury marks in the victim’s body.
