DHAKA: A city court on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against 67 people including BNP vice-chairman Selima Rahman and BNP chairperson’s special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas.

Court of Dhaka metropolitan session judge Mohammad Qamrul Hossain Molla issued the warrant after accepting the charge-sheet of a sabotage case.

Additional public prosecutor Tapas Kumar Paal of the court confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Meanwhile, BNP standing committee member MK Anwar surrendered to the court and sought bail, which was granted by the court.

The other accused were BNP leaders Shirin Sultana, Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, Habib-un Nabi Khan Sohel, Azizul Bari Helal, Safiul Alam Babu and Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, among others.

However, the case was filed with Motijheel Thana in February last year.
