DHAKA: US Secretary of State John Kerry met BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and discussed about the way to establish democracy in the country and prevent terrorism.

BNP secretary general Fakhrul Islam Alamgir briefed media about the discussion at Khaleda Zia’s resident in city’s Gulshan area on Monday (August 29).

Earlier, the meeting between John Kerry and Khaleda Zia was held for an hour from 4:20pm at US Embassy.

Fakhrul Islam said the US secretary assured to co-operate Bangladesh to diminish terrorism, re-establish democracy and government change.

Khaleda Zia also promised to enhance bilateral diplomatic relation between the countries.
