4 female JMB members held in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ: Detective Branch (DB) of police detained four female members, including three of a family, of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) at Kazipur upazila of the district early Monday (September 5).

The detainees were Phulera Begum, wife of one Abu Sayeed; and her two daughters Shakila Khatun and Salma Khatun; and Razia Khatun, wife of one Rafiqul Islam, all hailed from Baraitola village of the upazila.

Sirajganj DB police officer-in-charge (OC) Waheduzzaman told Banglanews that acting on a tip-off they detained the four from their secret meeting at JMB leader Faridul Islam’s house.

A good number of jihadist books, a computer and some electronic gadgets were seized from the spot, he added.

Earlier on July 24, four female JMB members were detained along with lots of Jihadist books and bomb making materials from Masumpur area of the town.

Besides this, three JMB men were held from Ullapara upazila of the district on September 1.
