Shafik Rehman freed on bail

GAZIPUR: Journalist Shafik Rehman has been released on bail from Kashimpur Central Jail in the district on Tuesday (September 6).

He came out from the jail around 12:50pm.

The journalist’s wife Taleya Rehman, cousins Onasis-e-Khoda and Hasanur Rahman and other family members received him at the jail gate.

Kashimpur Central Jail superintendent Nasir Ahmed said that the papers regarding Shafik Rehman’s bail reached the jail at the night of September 5.

After scrutinizing the papers they released him around 12:50pm on Tuesday, he added.

Earlier on August 31, the Supreme Court granted bail to Shafik Rehman.
