DHAKA: A city court on Tuesday (September 27) framed charges against six members of banned extremist outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir, including its chief coordinator Mohiuddin Ahmed, in a case under anti-terrorism act.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge M Qamrul Hossain Molla framed the charges after holding a hearing.
The judge also fixed October 24 as the date of deposition.
On April 19 of 2010, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Thana police arrested Mohiuddin from a house of Green Road in Dhaka.
Other accused of the case are Saidur Rahman alias Rajib, Qazi Morshedul Haque alias Plabon, MA Yusuf, Tanvir Ahmed and Tawhidul Alam Chanchal.
Of the accused, Tawhidul Alam Chanchal is fugitive while the rest are on bail.
Police submitted chargesheet against the accused to Dhaka CMM court on February 9 of 2013.
