DHAKA: The first namaj-e-janaza of BNP standing committee member Brig. Gen. (retd) ASM Hannan Shah was held at Mahakhali DOHS Jame Mosque Thursday morning (September 29).

Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) President Badruddoza Chowdhury, LDP chairman Colonel Oli Ahmed, Liberation War Affairs minister AKM Mozammel Haque, BNP vice chairman Dr Osman Farukh, other BNP leaders and their relatives attended the janaza around 10:15am.

The second janaza will be held around 11:30am at Parliament South Plaza.

After offering third janaza at BNP central office in city’s Nayapaltan area, the body will again kept in the hospital.

The body of Hannan Shah will be buried at his family graveyard at Gazipur’s Kapasia upazila.

Earlier Tuesday (September 27), Hannan Shah breathed his last at Raffles Heart Centre in Singapore. He was 77 and suffered from cardiac problems for a long.
