DHAKA: A city court has issued an arrest warrant against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman and private television channel Ekushey Television (ETV) chief reporter Mahathir Faruki in a sedition case filed with city’s Tejgaon Thana.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari passed the order after taking the chargesheet in cognizance on Thursday (September 29).

He also asked to confiscate the assets of the accused if they could not be arrested and to submit a report on November 2.

The case’s investigation officer and also DB police inspector Imdadul Haque submitted the chargesheet against four persons including BNP leader Tarique Rahman.
