Hannan Shah laid to rest

GAZIPUR: BNP standing committee member Brigadier General (Retd) ASM Hannan Shah has been buried on his home-yard in Kapasia upazila of the district on Friday afternoon (September 30).

He was buried after the eighth namaz-e-janaza, held at 5:00pm at his village.

Born on October 11 in 1941, Hannan Shah was jute and textile minister during BNP’s rule from 1991-1995. His father Fakir Abdul Mannan was general secretary of the then East Pakistan unit of Muslim League.

Earlier on September 27, Hannan Shah breathed his last at Raffles Heart Centre in Singapore at the age of 77. He suffered from cardiac problems for a long. His body was brought to Dhaka on the following day.
