NETROKONA: Detective Branches (DB) of police detained four members of extremist outfit Hizb-ut Tauhid from Netrokona municipality area early Tuesday (October 4).

The detainees were identified as Moniruzzaman, 33, hailed from Shariatpur district sadar and his wife Sumaiya Akhter, 23, from Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur, Parul Akhter, 30, from Nalitabari upazila and Sjon Hawlader, 28, from Sakhipur of Bhedarganj upazila in Shariatpur district.

Additional police super (sadar circle) Khan Mohammad Abu Naser told Banglanews that there are cases against Hizb-ut Tauhid’s Netrokona district unit ameer Moniruzzaman and his wife Sumaiya Akhter under terrorism and drugs act.

Besides, police have information about Parul and Sujon’s have involvement in militancy, he added.

Legal actions will be taken against the detainees, he added.
