RANGPUR: Police have arrested a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Chitali Dakkhinpara village under Mithapukur upazila of the district on Thursday noon (November 24).

The arrestee is Dildar Hossain, 52, a union Jamaat Rokon and son of Sobhan Mia of the village.

Mithapukur Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Dildar are facing eight charges including killing six people in a petrol bomb attack on a passenger bus in Mithapukur’s Batasan area in 2015 and killing seven people in a clash on the day of Jamaat ameer Sayeedi’s death verdict in 2013.
