DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said his party would prefer the national election to be held in December, the month of victory.
Quader, also, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister made the remark while talking to reporters at the Secretariat office on Wednesday (December 6).
He said, “There is no possibility or plan for a snap election but we are prepared for election whether it is held after one, three or six months later. Whenever the Elections Commission (EC) will hold election, we are prepared to participate in it. However, we just want that elections to be held in the month of victory.”
The MP further said they began preparation much earlier. Already, his party has made a draft list of candidates in district and divisional levels.
