Leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of BNP, clashed with police at Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Sunday morning.

Several hundred leaders and activists of JCD gathered there this morning to protest the revocation of BNP Founder Ziaur Rahman's gallantry award.

As police intercepted them, they attacked the law enforcers around 11:30 am, triggering the clash, police said.

Abul Bashar, an officer of Shahbagh police station, said several policemen and protesters have been injured in the clash. Additional members of law enforcing agencies have been deployed in the area to avert any untoward situation.
