DHAKA: Islami Chhatra Shibir Secretary General Abdul Jabbar threatened the government to paralyze the country if their detained leaders were not released.

He issued the threat while addressing 18-party’s rally demanding restoration of caretaker government at Suhrawardy Uddayan on Friday.

Abdul Jabbar said, “The government has to release Jamaat and Shibir’s central leaders immediately. Otherwise Chhatra Shibir will paralyze the whole country.”

Allude to after a long drama and tension, opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance started their rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital at 2:15pm Friday.

Thousands of leaders and activists of the alliance thronged the venue from the morning ignoring drizzling.

They were seen carrying banners, festoons and chanting ant-government slogans.
