Bangladesh trail Afghanistan by 148 on Day 2

DHAKA: Bangladesh are at 194 with loss of eight wickets at stumps on Day two of the one-off Test against Afghanistan at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

The hosts trail by 148 runs after the visitors Afghanistan were bowled out for 342 in their first innings on Friday (September 6).

Bangladesh 194 with 2 wickets remaining in 67 overs at close. Taijul Islam with 14 and Mosaddek Hossain(rhb) 44 runs remained unbeaten on naught.

After scoring a maiden half-century, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan scythed through Bangladesh's top order and took four wickets. Mohammad Nabi scalped two while Yamin Ahmadzai took one wicket. 

Earlier in the day, Afghan's 92 and Rashid's maiden half century helped Afghanistan score 342 in the first innings of the only Test against hosts Bangladesh. 

Later, Shakib Al Hasan removed debutant Qais Ahmed and Yamin Ahmadzai. 

Rashid Khan hits his maiden Test fifty with three sixes and two fours.  

Afghanistan added 71 runs in 21 overs, before losing their remaining five wickets. 

Taijul Islam bagged four wickets while Shakib and Nayeem Hasan took two each.
