Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a Rohingya man with one lakh yaba tablets from the Ukhiya border area on Thursday (Feb 16).

The detainee was identified as Sharif Hossain, 21, son of Bashir Ahmed of Kutupalong Rohingya camp of Ukhiya upazila.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Saiful Islam Chowdhury, commanding officer of the 34th BGB Battalion confirmed the matter.

He said tipped off, a team of BGB conducted a raid at Tulatuli Joliler Goda of Rajapalong union and arrested Sharif.

The detainee and the yaba pills were handed over to Ukiya Police Station, he added.
