At least 23 people were arrested in three cases in connection with the clashes between police and devotees in Panchagarh on Saturday (Mar 4).

According to information, a total of 27 named people and 6,600 unnamed ones were made accused in the cases on various charges.

Panchagarh Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Latif Mia confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said that efforts are on to arrest the rest of the accused in this regard.

However, law enforcement agencies are in a strict position to prevent any unwanted situation, he added.

On Friday, a clash took place between police and the devotees of the Ahmadiyya community over ‘Salana Jalsa’ event in Panchagarh.
