A man was killed and another sustained injuries as the gas cylinder of a truck exploded at a filling station in Dhaka's Mugda area this morning (March 21).

The deceased was identified as Md Saddam, 25, the helper of the truck, said Sub-inspector Ansar Ali, duty officer of Mugda Police Station.

Mugda Police Station Office in Charge (OC) Jamal Uddin Meer confirmed the matter.

He said the truck was refilling gas at Best Eastern CNG Filling Station around 5am. Suddenly, the gas cylinder exploded with a big bang, leaving Saddam dead on the spot and another labour of the truck injured.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
