CHITTAGONG: Railway thana police held a person with five gold bars from Chittagong railway station platform in the port city on Saturday morning.

The detainee is Shafiqur Rahman, 35, hailed from Satkania Upazila of the district.

Sources said that acting on a tip off, police held Shafiqur and recovered the gold bars while he was carrying some books of Junior School level.

Confirming the matter, Railway Thana Officer-in-Charge Syed Yasin Faruk told banglanews, “The process is underway to file a case against the detainee in this connection.”
