GAZIPUR: Cracks were detected in a seven-storey factory building in Tongi area of the district on Saturday morning.

Workers of Fame Sweater and SS Sweater in Dorail area traced the cracks around 10:00am, sources said.

After the cracks were found at the factory building, workers of the two factories denied continuing their duties inside the factory buildings.

Five workers were also injured while they were trying to rush out from their factory.

Later, the workers began agitation demanding inspections at their factory buildings by engineers.

Regarding the matter, journalist tried to contact officers of two factories but they refuted to make any comment.

Officer-in-Charge of Tongi Police Station could not be reached for comment despite several attempts.
