Two people were killed and two others injured as a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the Fulhor area of Bandar upazila in Narayanganj.

The deceased were identified as Jahirul Islam, 42, a resident of the upazila, and Mukul, 40, from the Gaibandha district.

Bandar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddiki confirmed the matter today (April 16).

He said the Madanpur-bound auto-rickshaw was hit by the truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving  the two of auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot. 

The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), he said, adding the dead bodies are being kept in Narayanganj District Hospital, he added.

However, the truck driver managed to flee the scene, the OC added.
